Curling Split Time Camera is built so that it does not need your personal data. This page explains what the app does with the camera and what is stored on your device.

1. We do not collect personal data

The app has no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising. It does not send any information about you or your use of the app to us or to anyone else.

2. Camera

The app needs access to the camera to see the stone crossing the zones you place on screen. The video is analysed on your iPhone in real time, frame by frame, and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere. When you leave the app, the camera is switched off. You can revoke camera access at any time in Settings; the app then shows an explanation instead of the camera view and cannot time anything.

3. Data stored on your device

The app stores only your settings on the device: the positions of the two zones, the sensitivity and debounce values, and the beep setting. These are kept in the app's local storage, are not shared, and are deleted when you delete the app. The record of the trial minutes you have used is kept in the device's keychain, so it is not reset by reinstalling the app; it contains no personal data and never leaves the device.

4. Speech

The spoken "Ready" cue and the spoken times are generated by the speech synthesis built into iOS and play through connected AirPods or other headphones, or through the iPhone's speaker. Nothing you say is recorded; the app does not use the microphone.

5. Purchase

The full version is sold and the payment processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details and no personal information from the purchase; the app only learns from Apple whether the full version has been bought. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

6. Children

The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. Because it collects nothing, it can be used by juniors under the supervision of a coach or parent.

7. Changes

If the app ever starts to process data differently, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
